ASTU 3010 - Exploring Metalsmithing and Jewelry

Designed for non-art majors; primarily intended to instruct students in the fundamental processes and materials used in the practices of contemporary jewelry and metalsmithing. Students are instructed on the basic working properties of commonly used non-ferrous metals. They learn to utilize techniques such as piercing, soldering, texturing, small-scale casting and forming to create wearable objects or hollowware as well as participate in group analysis of completed objects. 

Prerequisite(s): Non CVAD majors only.
