JOUR 4730 - Picture Editing and Portfolio

Students produce a comprehensive professional visual journalism portfolio that builds on selective work from previous skills courses, but consists primarily of new projects. Students are introduced to a variety of software for creating professional portfolio web sites. Shooting assignments address specific news categories, with an emphasis on long-form visual storytelling. Instruction includes online and Web copyright issues, ethics and professional practices and graphic news design.

Prerequisite(s): JOUR 3321, JOUR 3700. Journalism major or minor status; consent of school.
