3 hours Concentrated study of the principles, practices and ethics of reporting and writing news under the pressure of deadlines to develop news judgment, craftsmanship and ability to handle complex news stories. Student work is subject to classroom analysis and criticism. This course prepares students lacking strong journalistic backgrounds for advanced professional courses and may be counted as part of a graduate program in fields other than journalism.
