EDEC 5653 - Making the Literacy Connection: Language to Reading

Study of the development of language and literacy in young children with a focus on oral language, listening comprehension, alphabetic knowledge, print awareness and early reading/writing. Addresses supporting young children’s emergent literacy skills through curricular and pedagogical practices grounded in research, as well as approaches to assessment and evaluations to early language development.
