Decision Sciences professional field
The professional field in decision sciences requires 18 hours of the following courses. Approved supporting courses, 12 hours
Remaining hours
The remaining hours are selected from 3000- or 4000-level business courses. The following are suggested elective sequences. Note
BCIS 4800 cannot be used as a supporting course. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved in writing in advance by the departmental undergraduate coordinator. Additional Requirements
A candidate for the degree must complete 33 hours of business administration courses in residence, of which 15 hours must be in the professional field of study. Students are encouraged to use free electives to meet professional goals.
Students interested in the theoretical and mathematical science of computing should see the Department of Computer Science and Engineering . Academic Standards
- It is recommended that students selecting decision sciences as a professional field for the BBA degree meet at least one of the following standards:
- Be in the top 25 percent of their high school graduating class; or
- Attain a minimum score of 920 recentered on the SAT or 20 on the ACT.
- It is required that students entering the decision sciences professional field for the BBA degree have a GPA of at least 2.7 in all courses completed at UNT. First term/semester transfer students must have a transfer GPA of at least 2.7 in order to take professional field courses.
- A grade of C or above must be earned in each professional field or supporting field course completed in residence or transferred to UNT.
- Academic requirements for graduation with a professional field in decision sciences include:
- A minimum 2.7 GPA in all hours attempted in the professional field and supporting courses, with minimum grades of C required in each professional and supporting field course;
- A minimum 2.7 GPA in all courses completed at UNT; and
- A grade of C or above in each BCIS/DSCI course taken in the professional field, supporting decision sciences courses or career track.
