DTSC 5901 - Independent Study

Provides students with the opportunity to pursue independent, faculty-supervised study on a specialized topic in Data Science not covered in the regular curriculum. The student and supervising faculty member collaboratively define the scope of study, learning objectives, deliverables, and evaluation criteria. Possible activities include focused research, applied projects, or in-depth exploration of advanced concepts in Data Science related areas. Independent study is intended to foster self-directed learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Prerequisite(s): Consent of department.

A formal proposal and faculty approval are required prior to enrollment. May be repeated for credit.
