EDEE 3600 - Teaching with STEAM: Integrated Math

Students will explore ways to integrate mathematics concepts with other disciplines, specifically, science, technology, engineering, and the arts in robust and innovative ways in EC-6 classrooms. Much of this will be done through problem-based activities that are both mathematically rigorous and relevant to the lives of children and their communities. Students will also learn ways to advocate for and promote integrated mathematics instruction within their schools and districts as a tool for addressing social injustices.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to teacher education program; EDEE 3400.

Corequisite(s): EDEE 3650

Must be taken in Block A; Course serves as a centering course for Block A and requires attendance in seminars.
