EDCI 3750 - Immigration, Language and Culture
3 hours
Discusses migration as a social phenomenon in the world, and how it affects the education and well-being of immigrant and migrant children and families whose languages and cultures are minoritized in their host country. Approaches to immigrant assimilation vs integration vs interculturalism will be discussed, including how they are reflected in language policies and the Pre-K-12 curriculum.
