Entering students interested in majoring in the College of Visual Arts and Design are classified as pre-majors.

Interior Design admission and pre-major requirements
To be admitted to the interior design major (and to be eligible to enroll in advanced art courses), a pre-major must meet all the following requirements: 30 hours of college courses
Complete a minimum of 30 hours of college courses (including the following). Complete with a grade of C or better
Entry portfolio
Submit a portfolio (as described on the department web site) and pass the entry review in the spring semester prior to starting the interior design studio sequence. Complete with a grade of C or better
Portfolio review
Submit a portfolio (as described on the department web site) and pass the sophomore review in the spring semester. GPA requirements
- Have at least a 2.50 GPA on the required art courses.
- Have a minimum 2.25 UNT grade point average.
