Mechanical Engineering Technology with a concentration in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, BSET

The manufacturing engineering technology as a concentration prepares students for professional careers in the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing engineering technologists apply scientific and engineering knowledge and methods in support of engineering activities. Manufacturing engineering technologists share much of the mathematics and science background of engineers. Their academic preparation emphasizes technical skills and product/process manufacturing applications. The major thrust of the manufacturing engineering technology curriculum is that of product/process design and factory automation. Graduates also take positions in research and development, reliability/quality assurance and process support functions.

Manufacturing engineering technology is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202; 410-347-7700).
