Admission requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least two letters of recommendation from individuals who can give evidence of the candidate’s critical thinking ability to engage in graduate studies. The recommendations should also address the candidate’s ability to work independently and in groups.
- Resume or curriculum vitae that includes the candidate’s previous work or educational experiences.
- At least three writing samples or examples of the candidate’s previous work.
- A personal statement addressing the candidate’s goals and rationale for applying to the digital communication analytics program and a brief description of the candidate’s career and research expectations with regard to work and further education.
Degree requirements
General requirements for the Master of Science with a major in digital communication analytics are the same as those listed in the Master’s degree requirements section of this catalog. This degree is a comprehensive program with options to prepare individuals for jobs related to data analytics, communication and social media. Theoretical foundations in data analytics and social media communication are expanded through applications in data collection, visualization, analysis and reporting.
This degree is a 30-hour program, which consists of 21 hours of seven required courses and 9 hours of elective courses. The student must have taken and passed 21 hours of core courses with at least a B grade to graduate.

DCAS 5000 is an entry course to be taken in the first semester. DCAS 5581 is to be taken during the last 9 hours of course work.
