The Bachelor of Science with a major in information science and applied technology is a flexible program offering a wide range of minors, including technological fields, making you more marketable. Minors chosen by students in this program often become an area of specialization for graduate study.
The bachelor’s degree program requires a major in the Department of Information Science and a minor in another field. Students must meet all general requirements for admission to undergraduate study as stated in the Admission section of this catalog. To enroll for more than 6 hours of courses in the Department of Information Science, students must have the following:
- at least sophomore standing
- a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. At least junior standing is required to enroll for more than 12 hours in the department

Hours required and general university requirements
A minimum of 120 semester hours, of which 42 must be advanced. See “University Core Curriculum ” in the Academics section of this catalog. Bachelor of Science degree requirements
Major of at least 33 hours including 18 hours of required courses in the concentration, and at least 15 additional hours selected with the approval of the department. Information science and knowledge organization

45 hours may be completed or transferred from related areas and programs as approved by the department. Students must contact an advisor in the information science program to determine the 45 hours of course work needed to complete the cross-functional area of the degree. Major requirements

A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required on all courses counted toward the major. |
