JOUR 4620 - Mass Communication Law and Ethics

Examination of law and ethics used by working journalists. Law topics include First Amendment, libel, privacy, access to information among other topics. Also examines critical ethical challenges and the ethical decision-making process in today’s changing media.
Prerequisite(s): Journalism major status: JOUR 1210 , JOUR 2310 , JOUR 3300 , and (JOUR 3321 and JOUR 3322 ) or JOUR 3323 only.
Journalism minor status: JOUR 2310 , JOUR 3300 , and (JOUR 3321 and JOUR 3322 ) or JOUR 3323 only. Consent of school.
