EDRE 3650 - Critical Literacies, New Literacies, and Teacher Inquiry



3 hours

Focuses on the construct of critical literacy as represented in the historical and contemporary works of local and international scholars, especially scholars of Color. Students will examine the changing nature of literacies and access to literacies of power both in society and schools. Students will also engage with the principles of practice-based research in this course.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to teacher education program; EDRE 3400  

Corequisite(s): EDRE 3600  

Must be taken in Block A; Course serves as a centering course for Block A and requires attendance in seminars.
