PUBH 4070 - Public Health Informatics

Introduces students to ways in which information technology and communication systems can be used to foster better collaboration among healthcare providers for better patient outcomes. For public health practice, research and learning, the use of informatics helps to increase both personal effectiveness as well as the effectiveness of public health activities. Students learn about principles of informatics and examples of practice in public health, healthcare data and information, healthcare data analytics, electronic health records, health information exchange, key players in health information technology, and much more.

Prerequisite(s): None.
